In collaboration with Amy Salter of S3 Architectural Group, LLC and Annie Kern Interiors, Beck Building Company created a peaceful oasis on Chateau Lane in Beaver Creek, Colorado. This penthouse remodel focused on maximizing the views of Beaver Creek Mountain. Additionally, the homeowners wanted to create a better flow throughout. As avid art collectors and lovers of color, the homeowners’ taste gave the interior effort good direction from the outset.
Many of the original finishes in the home weighed down the space with heavy, dark colors and materials. The biggest effort became lightening the space by replacing heavy railings with glass and metal. Even so, the architect, designer, and homeowner collaborated on the design to maintain the home’s connection to its natural surroundings.
Originally, the home featured a tremendous amount of orange butternut woodwork. Through the design process, the team found a way to lighten up the original wood and compliment it with light oak flooring. By preserving materials, this ensured the project had a lower environmental impact.
As the project came together, the homeowners’ love of color could truly shine. Accent colors of aubergine and blue became focal points of furnishings and walls. Pops of yellow and brass add warmth and fun to each space. All the while, designers kept the windows and views as the star of the show.
