We earned this honor in 2025 thanks to the featured publication of the Vail Getaway project in Luxe in June 2024. Nestled in Vail with a ski-in, ski-out location, this stunning mountain retreat blends European elegance with modern luxury. Originally designed by Orlando Diaz-Azcuy, the five-story chalet-style home recently underwent a stylish transformation led by designer Jamie Nusser. The homeowner, a longtime Vail visitor, envisioned a welcoming yet high-end escape for family gatherings—combining the comforts of home with the sophistication of a luxury hotel.
Key updates included converting a gym into a screening room and customizing guest suites for his children. Nusser infused bold personality through “color islands,” layering rich blues, reds, and greens against warm white oak interiors. Striking furnishings, sculptural lighting, and an impressive contemporary art collection—curated with K Contemporary—add vibrancy and character. Durable yet plush textiles like bouclé and alpaca enhance comfort while standing up to an active lifestyle.
Blending modern design with playful artistic expression, this refined mountain hideaway delivers both style and function—perfectly suited for après-ski lounging and unforgettable family moments.
