Snowmass Village Retreat

ABOUT THE PROJECT

LOCATION Snowmass, Colorado
ARCHITECT F&M Architects
INTERIOR DESIGN Jason Mitchell

With eight bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and 3800 square feet, this Snowmass Village retreat had exceptional bones. The  large windows highlighted epic views of Alpine Springs and Snowmass ski area. But the closed-off kitchen was decidedly stuck in the 1990s – “before kitchens were celebrated public spaces” as architect Flynn Stewart-Severy put it to 5280 magazine.

In partnership with Stewart-Severy’s firm (F&M Architects) and designer Jason Mitchell, Beck Building Company completely transformed the main living area of the home. The resulting project became a welcoming, contemporary oasis. Taking special care to highlight the home’s incredible surroundings, the finished project keeps the interiors simple, yet elegant and elevated.

The clean white walls and crisp dark trim mix with glamorous brass accents and bleached walnut floors to create a clean-yet-warm impression at this Snowmass Village Retreat. To modernize the space, Beck created a spacious great room revolving around the newly revamped staircase. The design shifted the kitchen, dining room and living room around to maximize impact.

The primary bedroom and bathroom got a thorough makeover. Brass accents and dark trim mirror the rest of the home while anchoring the cool light tones. A glass shower allows light to filter in, while the spacious vanity provides storage and glamor.
